Video of climbing in Kalymnos

by Nick Smith 26th October 2008

I've just come back from a whole month spent climbing & taking photographs on the Greek island of Kalymnos :)

I'll be uploading a gallery of the best shots from the month soon, but in the mean time, here is some video footage of me pushing myself on a very steep F7b from a couple of years ago:

As my logbook entry says "Completely brilliant :) Found it much, MUCH harder than DNA. The holds are great, but the climb requires more upper body strength for lots of long, lock moves, and the 'rests' on the route aren't nearly as good. Got it on my 1st red-point, but only by the skin of my teeth!". Notice the despairing shake of my head as I try and get onto the crucial 'seat' rest, about half way up. I'm pumped out of my mind!!

The video was shot & edited by Neil Gresham as part of his superb ClimbingMasterclass.com coaching trip that I was lucky enough to join in September 2006.
