Slow Canon UK lens repairs?
by Nick Smith 1st February 2007I've had my 24-105L in for repair with the main Canon lens repair center in the UK for the past 3 weeks. Each time I ring them, they claim that they are currently fixing it, and it will be shipped out in the next day or so. And sorry for the delay, due to waiting for parts...
I must admit that I expected the lens to be returned within 7 days - certainly Sigma UK service managed to get a lens fixed & returned the same week.
How much longer should I be patient for? This is my main walkaround lens, so my camera is sitting unused while they are repairing it. Is it worth asking them to replace the lens with a brand new one ?
Update 2nd March: Well it took a month, and I lost count of the number of phone calls, but I finally got 'closure'. Canon UK replaced the faulty lens with a brand new one, which appears to be working fine ![]()
